PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aeration processing method with which the layer of foam formed on the water face can be broken without requiring a great quantity of incidental facilities. SOLUTION: In the aeration processing method, a diffusing means of generating foam into a liquid and a stirring blade arranged at the upper part of the diffusing means are used to generate foam from the diffusing means in the liquid, to rotate the stirring blade and stir the liquid while shearing and fining the foam, and the foam is diffused into the liquid. When the liquid face is covered with the foam, the rotation of the stirring blade is reduced or stopped, the foam generated from the diffusing means is released into the liquid without being fined, and the foam covering the liquid face is broken by the released foam.
