PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of performing a vehicle control under a superior responding characteristic against a variation in vehicle action. SOLUTION: A cornering force Cf acted upon a tire W of a wheel 5 is calculated by a control device 14 in response to an amount of strainμof a shock absorber 23 detected by a strain sensor S13. Then, either a control over a reaction force being applied for an operation of a steering wheel 1 or a VGR control for variably setting a ratio between an amount of rotation of the steering wheel 1 and a steering amount of the wheel 5 is carried out in response to the calculated cornering force Cf.
