PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector capable of pulling off a contact from a housing without taking off a front retainer. SOLUTION: The electric connector 1 is provided with an insulating housing 10 with a contact-housing cavity 13; a contact 20 housed in the contact-housing cavity 13; a housing lance 14 for temporarily locking the contact 20; and a front retainer 30 inserted from a front face of the housing 10, locked to the housing 10 at a temporary locking position enabling insertion of the contact 20 into the contact-housing cavity 13 and a proper locking position making a secondary locking of the contact 20.
