PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, rigid and reliable fuel cell container capable of storing a compact electrolyte member and enabling even supply of gas, a uniform temperature gradient inside the container, highly efficient electrical connections and highly efficient power generation, as well as a fuel cell for a portable electronic device. SOLUTION: The fuel cell container 2 includes a base 6 that houses an electrolyte member 3 having first and second electrodes 4, 5; a first fluid flow passage 8; a first wiring conductor 10; a lid 7 attached to a top surface of the base 6; a second fluid flow passage 9; and a second wiring conductor 11. At least one of the first and the second wiring conductors 10, 11 is formed around an opening of the first fluid flow passage 8 or an opening of the second fluid flow passage 9 in such a manner as to contact with the first or the second electrode 4, 5. Portions in contact with the first wiring conductor 10 contacting with the first electrode 4 or the second wiring conductor 11 contacting with the second electrode 5 of the base 6 and the lid 7 are porous to have air holes communicating the first fluid flow passages 8 and the second fluid flow passages 9 adjacent each other.
