PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission which can improve the power transmitting efficiency and the life. SOLUTION: The toroidal type continuously variable transmission comprises an input shaft 1 to which a torque from an engine is input, an input-side disk 2 which is connected to the input shaft 1 and integratedly rotates together with the input shaft, an output-side disk 4 which receives the torque of the input-side disk 2 at a required speed changing ratio via a power roller 11 arranged between the input-side disk 2 and the output-side disk 4, and a loading cam type pushing device 12 which is arranged on the back face side of the input-side disk 2, and pushes the input-side disk 2 in the axial direction. The pushing device 12 comprises a loading cam 10 which rotates together with the input shaft 1, and rolling elements 15 which are rotatably held between the cam surface 13 of the loading cam 10 and the cam surface 17 of the input-side disk 2.
