<p>A backlight device using a light emission unit (7) on which a large number of light emission diodes (12) are mounted. The backlight device has a reflection plate (16) for reflecting light emitted from a light emission unit (11). The reflection plate (16) is constructed from a bottom surface reflection plate (16a), side surface reflection plates (16b-16e), and corner reflection plates (16f-16i). The bottom surface reflection plate (16a) reflects light, emitted from the light emission unit (7), from a bottom surface direction. The side surface reflection plates (16b-16e) reflect light, emitted from the light emission unit (7), from each of front, rear, left, and right side surface direction. The corner reflection plates (16f-16i) are constructed by joining the bottom surface reflection plate (16a) and the side surface reflection plates (16b-16e) and cover each corner. Light entering into a display panel (1) is uniformized so that the brightness of the entire surface is uniform.</p> |
