An image processing device of enlarging an image. A data buffer (32) holds data in proximity of a pixel of interest needed for enlargement out of inputted image data. A data position re-arranging section (33) re-arranges the data positions of the pixel-of-interest proximity data as necessary. A pixel priority order judging section(34) judges whether the color of each pixel of the pixel-of-interest proximity data where the data positions are re-arranged is the background color or the foreground color. A data selection flag judging section (36) judges whether or not the pattern formed of the background color and foreground color of the pixel-of-interest proximity data judged by the pixel priority order judging section (34) agrees with a predetermined pattern and outputs a data selection flag. A data selecting section (37) selects image data to be allocated to the pixel-of-interest position from the pixels of the pixel-of-interest proximity data supplied from the data position re-arranging section (33) according to the data selection flag.
