A hydrogen/oxygen steam generator (2) produces steam that is fed into a gas turbine (8) to bring the gas turbine to a sufficiently high rotary speed before the pressure rate in the gas turbine is sufficient for fuel to operate the gas turbine. A compressed air generator (4) comprised of a steam turbine (5) and a compressor (6) produces compressed air from the steam. An independent claim is also included for the use of the compressed air generating system.
