PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which can easily recognize operations and abnormal states. SOLUTION: When an I/F section 14 detects the operation of turning off a power source, a control section 18 turns off a lamp 1 as a light source, and operates a fan 13, as a cooling section, for a predetermined period of time. Further, the control section 18 transmits a sound signal, serving as a trigger for causing loudspeakers Rsp and Lsp to sound for the predetermined period of time, to a voice processing section 6. Using the sound signal as the trigger, the voice processing section 6 generates voice data, composed of melody, to be supplied to the loudspeakers Rsp and Lsp via a sound source circuit 8 composed of a melody IC.
