PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever which can effectively prevent the generation of an impact noise and so forth from occurring or soften when an operation member reciprocates. SOLUTION: In this shift lever 10, a cover section 90 formed of a rubber or a synthetic resin material having elasticity of the degree of the rubber material is provided on a link member 56. Therefore, an impact when a pressing section 98 of the cover section 90 comes into contact with a contact section 100 by the turning of the link member 56 is absorbed by an elastic deformation of the pressing section 98. Also, a protruding section 108 is formed on the upper wall 102 of the contact section 100. Thus, a contact area with the pressing section 98 can be reduced. In addition, a gap section 106 is formed between the upper wall 102 of the contact section 100 and the upper end of a cylindrical section 20. Therefore, an impact received by the upper wall 102 from the pressing section 98 is hard to transmit to the upper end of the cylindrical section 20. Thus, the impact noise occurring when the pressing section 98 comes into contact with the upper wall 102 can be softened, or the generation of the impact noise can be prevented from occurring.
