PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic printing ink which has excellent lithographic printing suitability, is produced from a resin not using formaldehyde compounds not preferable on environmental hygiene maintenance, and can also be applied to VOC free types. SOLUTION: This method for producing an ester-modified resin acid for lithographic printing ink binders is characterized by performing at≤70 kPa one part of a process for modifying a resin acid with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride and an alcoholic compound.
