PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cartridge which can contribute to reduce the thickness of a cartridge case and can sufficiently deal with the higher speed rotation of tape reels. SOLUTION: Within the cartridge case 24 of the tape cartridge 21, coil springs 58 are applied as reel springs for energizing a pair of the tape reels 26 respectively to a lower shell 23 side. The coil diameter of the reel springs 58 is made greater than the diameter of cylindrical sections (first cylindrical sections) 55 of driving shaft insertion holes 54 of the tape reels 26, so that the bottom ends of the reel springs 58 are supported by sliding blocks 59 inside annular gaps 56 between the cylindrical sections 55 and core sections 51 (second cylindrical sections) of the tape reels 26.
