PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method of a member for a display for evaluating the strength of a partition wall in the stage of a back plate without forming the panel of a plasma display or the like and evaluating the strength of the partition wall ready to cause the break due to the contact with a front plate to prevent the break. SOLUTION: In the evaluation method of the member for the display for measuring the strength of the partition wall of the member for the display wherein the partition wall is formed on a substrate by forcing a flat indenter having a circular top part into the partition wall, the strength of the partition wall is measured using the flat indenter wherein the diameter of the apex of the flat indenter is longer than the width of the top part of the partition wall.
