PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blanket cylinder to which a blanket of such a type that a blanket sheet is fixed to the surface of a flexible plate can be securely and easily fitted and can realize the stabilization of printing quality and reduction of waste paper during printing. SOLUTION: This blanket cylinder is constituted of the following components: a cylinder groove with an opening part axially formed in the surface of the blanket cylinder; a slit groove which is formed rotatably in the cylinder groove and receives a chucking side end plate of a blanket inserted into the slit groove; and a tension bar with a pressing surface which presses the chucking side end plate of the blanket. In addition, a recessed part is formed in the cylinder center side of the chucking side inner surface of the cylinder groove. and the chucking side end plate is pressed to the recessed part by the pressing surface and bent into an odd-shaped form.
