An open-ended textile spinning machine has numerous work stations (4) with a central air feed (6) generating a declining pressure gradient to drive the work stations (4). The assembly further has an air filter (12) operating in conjunction with the air pump (6). The air filter is a two-stage unit (12, 16) with a regulator (14). The air pump (6) is located either upstream or downstream of the first air filter (12). The first air filter is a conical unit incorporating a number of cleaning jets and secondary air feed tubes.
