PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic material for printed wiring boards by using nickel foil which has a smooth surface and heat resistance. SOLUTION: The metallic material for printed wiring boards comprises nickel foil which does not soften even if it is heated at 300°C for one hour. At least one surface of the nickel foil has surface roughness Ra 0.12μm or less. It is preferable that the specular glossiness of 60 degrees of at least one surface of the nickel foil is 30% or more. Further, smoothness is improved by performing gloss nickel plating of 0.3μm or more to at least one side of the surface of the nickel foil. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
