摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high-speed writing of data to a display memory without increasing electric power consumption. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display controller unit is provided with: a gradation voltage selection circuit (183) which selects the desired gradation voltage respectively driving the pixels for one line component of the liquid crystal panel from among a plurality of gradation voltages generated by a gradation voltage generation circuit (181) according to the display data read out of a memory (140); a first driver (185) which generates the driving signal to be supplied to the liquid crystal panel on the basis of the gradation voltage selected by the gradation voltage selection circuit; a second driver (70) which generates a signal to successively select one line to be displayed from a plurality of the lines of the liquid crystal panel; and a data holding circuit (160) which is coupled between an external terminal and the input of the memory, is made to capture and store the data supplied to the external terminal in the unit of a bit number corresponding to the number of the external terminal, and supplies the data stored in the unit of (n) times ((n) is an integer; n>1) of the bit number to the memory.
