PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein position information derived by offset and gain values before offset and gain change, and position information at the offset and gain change, vary the scale of an interpolated signal, so that the output of a position signal is changed at the time of changing. SOLUTION: In changing either the offset or the gain of a cyclic waveform signal, a position detection signal value calculated according to the offset or the gain before the change is stored, and a position detection signal value calculated by the offset or the gain after the change is calculated, then a difference between them is stored as position signal offset. The position signal offset value is added to or subtracted from the position detection signal value outputted as the result of new offset and gain regulation, and the position signal is thereby generated in the position detector.
