PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus greatly increasing workability of set assembly and maintenance by enabling one touch operation of mounting and dismounting a gasket to a filter glass as protection against undesired electromagnetic radiation of a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: A plasma display panel (PDP) television is equipped with; the filter glass 3 having an electromagnetic shield section 9 in front of a PDP module 4; and the gasket 11 for conducting the shield section 9 to a front panel 2 and a rear cover 5 in order to shield the undesired electromagnetic radiation generated by the PDP module 4. In the gasket 11, a conductive cloth 13 is wound around the surface of a resin core material 12 whose cross section is J-shaped and by pinching and inserting the gasket 11 to each circumferential edge of the filter glass 3, the gasket 11 is electrically connected to an electrode section 9a of an electromagnetic shield section 9 in the filter glass 3 and a conductive loop is formed with the rear cover 5 via the front panel 2.
