<p>The device has a saw rope (11) with a saw rope drive (10). The saw rope is guided around the slag bar placed on the device in order to cut the slag bar into pieces. A saw rope guide is designed as slag bar overlapping bridges (6,7) that include rope deflection that is adjustable in height and/or side ways. Lateral position of a slag bag is adjustable perpendicular to saw rope gradient. An independent claim is also included for a method for crushing a slag bar.</p>
