A clock is described having an hour hand and a first stepper motor with a first rotor for rotating the hour hand, the first rotor being rigidly connected to the hour hand. The clock also includes a minute hand and a second stepper motor with a second rotor for rotating the minute hand, the second rotor bei ng rigidly connected to the minute hand. A controller controls the first and second stepper motors. A second hand can also be included.
