Device for cooling of a cryostat arrangement

The cryogenic cooler (7) is attached to a cold head (10) which may be brought into contact with a workpiece. The cooler uses reflux flow of cryogenic gases and has a housing (8) surrounding a vacuum space (9). There are two cooling stages (11,12) in the vacuum chamber, protected by a radiation shield (13). There are two connections (14a,14b) to a cryostat (1) which have concentrically-arranged tanks (2a,2b) containing two different cryogenic fluids i.e. helium (18a) and nitrogen (18b).
