PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a resin composition suitable for applications such as interior and exterior components for vehicles. SOLUTION: The nanocomposite polycarbonate resin composition comprises a polycarbonate resin and inorganic microparticles. The method for producing the resin composition comprises the step of forming a dispersion by adding inorganic microparticles having functional groups capable of forming hydrogen bonding to a solution comprising phenol and acetone, the step of producing bisphenol A containing the inorganic microparticles by heating the dispersion to cause the condensation reaction of phenol with acetone, and the step of polymerizing the bisphenol A containing the inorganic microparticles by a phosgene method or a transesterification method to give a polymer. Thus produced nanocomposite polycarbonate resin composition has high transparency and elastic modulus and a low linear thermal expansion coefficient, hence being suitable for applications such as interior and exterior components (e.g. windows) for vehicles.
