PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending device and a bending method in which the configuration is simple, the motion is rapid, environmental problems such as oil leakage are not present, and a crowning means is highly accurate. SOLUTION: In the bending device, a work W is bent in cooperation with both dies P and D by moving either table of an upper table 1 and a lower table 2 with the dies P and D mounted thereon via die holders 13 and 14. The bending device has a plurality of crowning means T. The crowning means T comprises a pair of rotary members 3A and 3B provided on any one of the tables 1 and 2, and a rotation driving source M to rotate the rotary member 3B which is either of the pair of rotary members 3A and 3B.
