PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the exchange time of a developer, without making a load on the developer heavy by making the rotational speeds of carrying members variable. SOLUTION: At the time of executing normal printing, the developer in a developing device 4 is carried, while being stirred in the axial direction of a developing roll 12, by the carrying members 11. The revolving speeds of the carrying members 11 at this time are fixed by the property of stirring the developer and the load thereon, to be constant. The developer pushed out by the carrying members 11 is carried to the developing roll 12 by a water tribune type paddle 13, uniformly leveled by a regulating member 14 and then, moved to a developing part, to develop a photoreceptor with toner. The developer after the development with the toner is completed is returned to the carrying members 11 by the paddle 13 again and carried-stirred by the carrying members 11. Then, the developer is discharged only by the reverse operations of the carrying members 11, bit at this time, only in the initial stage of the discharge, where the load is heaviest, rotation at a normal revolving speed is attained. When the developer is discharged by some degree and the load is light, the rotation is made fast. |
