PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce loss by an LC snubber by regenerating charge in a first capacitor during an off-duration of a first switching means to a DC power source, utilizing a resonance phenomenon of the first capacitor with an inductive element. SOLUTION: If a second switching means 16 turns off simultaneously with the turning off of a first switching means 3, discharging of energy stored and held in a first capacitor 14 begins. The discharging is performed by resonance of the first capacitor 14 with a reactor 15, and the waveform of current flowing in the reactor 15 and the second means 16 becomes a shape of a sinusoidal wave. Snubber energy stored in the first capacitor 14 is regenerated in a DC power source 1 or a second capacitor 1' via the route of first capacitor 14 to a reactor 15 to a second switching means 16 to DC power source 1 or second capacitor 1' and to a first capacitor 14. Consequently, reduction of switching loss and switching noise as well becomes feasible. |
