PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument with which high-grade musical tones may be obtained by using stereoscopically sampled waveforms. SOLUTION: This electronic musical instrument has a pitch assignment operating element 1, a reading-out means 4 and a memory means 6. The stereoscopically sampled waveform data and the monaurally sampled second waveform data are stored in the memory means 6. When both of the waveform data WD is read out (in time sharing) according to the pitch assigned by the pitch assignment operating element 1, the second waveform data is synthesized (cross faded) with each piece of the first waveform data and the plural musical tones (L and R) are generated by the musical tone generating means after a multiplier 8. The characteristics of the generated musical tones are controlled by the operation (DP) of a playing operating element 5 disposed separately from the pitch assignment operating element 1. The second waveform data may also be synthesized individually with the first waveform data by using the stereoscopically sampled data in place of the monaurally sampled data. |
