PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in the heat resistance of a ground color part, especially, reversible recording properties, in the thermal recording material having a thermal color forming layer, by using a specific bisthiourea compd. as a coupler and adding a sensitizer to the thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material having a thermal color forming layer containing a colorless or light-colored dye precursor and a coupler reacting with the dye precursor at the time of heating to develop a color, a specific bisthiourea compd. represented by ether one of formulae I-IV is used as the coupler and the thermal color forming layer contains a sensitizer. In a thermal recording material wherein the bisthiourea compd. is used as the coupler and no sensitizer is used, a color is formed by instantaneous high heat energy due to a thermal head and the color development of the ground color part of the recording material can be prevented even under high temp. environment of 120 deg.C or higher. Further, a recorded part can be erased by alcohol and, that is, reversible recording properties are obtained. |
