The present invention provides a method of coating a stent. A stent framework (430) is provided. A polymeric mixture (442) is injected through at least one inlet port (452) in an extrusion die, and the polymeric mixture is extruded through a shaped orifice (454) onto at least a portion of the stent framework (430) to form a coated stent. A coated stent including an extruded coating (440) disposed on at least a portion of the stent framework and a system for treating a vascular condition are also disclosed.
