Transmitting data over a network takes place and parameters indicating network conditions vary during the transmission. A first station identifies at least one of these parameters. The first station then adjusts the nature of the transmitted data in response to the parameter(s). Examples of network condition parameters are the rate at which data is transmitted, the amount of data in an output buffer or the connection latency of the network. |
