A plug 1 includes pins 8 for mating with an electrical power socket. A digital television receiver, fig. 2, is arranged inside the housing 2 of the plug 1. An RF input socket 9 and output socket 11 are provided on the housing 2. The housing includes an isolated power supply 7 and a remote control sensor 13. The arrangement provides a conveniently sized alternative to a domestic 'set top box' for receiving a digital broadcast signal and converting that signal into a form that can be provided to a conventional television.
