Production of a granular hydrohalide (A) of a complex (I), comprising a central divalent metal cation and an aminodicarboxylic acid ion and optionally water as ligands, involves spray-drying an aqueous solution of (I) hydrohalide at an air inlet temperature of 300-350[deg]C, an air outlet temperature of 100-140[deg]C and a spray pressure of 3-5 bars. An independent claim is included for granular (I) hydrohalide (A') obtained by the process, having at least 10% of the particles of size more than 50 mu m and at least 10% of the particles of size less than 400 mu m (preferably at least 80% of the particles in the 100-315 mu m range, especially at least 50% of the particles in the 140-250 mu m range).
