A spherical bearing arrangement comprises a ball 2 having a bearing surface 3 and a housing 5 holding the ball 2. The housing 5 includes a pair of counterface bearing surfaces 7,8 separated from one another by a void 10 in which lubricant is located. The pair of counterface bearing surfaces 7,8 are preferably two annular surfaces, each of which has a radius conforming to the radius of the ball 2. The inner surface 6 of the housing 5 between the counterface bearing surfaces 7,8 may be concave and preferably has a radius which is smaller than the radius of the ball 2. The void 10 preferably provides a reservoir of lubricant to lubricate the interface between the bearing surface of the ball 2 and the pair of counterface bearing surfaces 7,8. Both the ball 2 and the counterface surfaces 7,8 may be metal and the housing 5 is preferably swaged onto the ball 2. |
