PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin composition excellent in ultraviolet-shielding properties, capable of obtaining a molded article excellent in transparency, and excellent in processability, for example, capable of preventing contamination of a mold by a sublimate. SOLUTION: The polyester resin composition comprises an aromatic polyester (A) and ultrafine metal oxide particles (B) dispersed in the aromatic polyester (A) in an amount of 0.01-20 mass%. The ultrafine metal oxide particles (B) have an average particle size of 100 nm or less, and the surface thereof is coated with an organosilicon compound. The average particle size X of the ultrafine metal oxide particles (B) in the aromatic polyester (A) satisfies the formula (1): 1≤X/Y≤5 (1), wherein X represents the average particle size (nm) of the ultrafine metal oxide particles (B) in the aromatic polyester (A); and Y represents the average particle size (nm) of primary particles of the ultrafine metal oxide particles (B) before they are dispersed in the aromatic polyester (A).
