The unit has a thermal insulation box (16) with a window (18) that is constituted of a material permeable to radiation. A detector (20) and a cold diaphragm (22) are disposed inside the thermal insulation box, where the diaphragm has a frontal side presenting an opening (24). An optical system (28) is disposed in the thermal insulation box between the window and the detector for reproducing a scene-object on the detector. An independent claim is also included for a use of a thermal insulation unit in a reproduction system of a homing torpedo.
