PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording processing continuation determination system provided in an image recording apparatus, which determines whether or not recording processing can is continued, on the occurrence of a failure associated with a nozzle array unit and which continues the recording processing when it is determined that the recording processing can be continued, as a result of determination, and a recording processing continuation determination method. SOLUTION: A nozzle array unit detection part 13 determines whether or not ink can be normally ejected from a plurality of nozzles of the nozzle array units 5-1-1 to 5-n-m. A recording continuation determination part 16 determines whether or not the recording processing can be continued, on the basis of the result of detection performed by the detection part 13, and job information transmitted from a host apparatus 17. When it is determined that the recording processing can be continued, the plurality of nozzles for use in the continued recording processing are determined. A recording medium 21 is moved in an X-direction by a width-direction movement mechanism 12(12'), according to need.
