FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves separately training patient in attention concentration and deconcentration skills. Then, the patient is trained in distributing attention with a part of attention being concentrated on anxiety objects and the other part being focused on bringing discomfort feelings in the body to consciousness. Next, skills are trained to associate the body to a wide spatial volume. Next step involves concurrently concentrating a part of attention on an anxiety object whereas the other part is deconcentrated in the body for making himself conscious of painful feelings and their evolution in simultaneously relaxing all muscle groups and applying acquired skills to associate the body to a wide spatial volume expanded to a size enough for visual image of anxiety source to be enclosed in the volume. While keeping a part of attention being concentrated inside of the body, the patient is stimulated to concentrate the other part of attention on all discomfort feelings amplifying them to maximum achievable level and retaining relaxed muscle state until warmth feeling spreading over the whole body or other comfort and peace feelings appear in combination with stable calm relation to events having caused stress. ^ EFFECT: wide range of functional applications. ^ 5 cl |
