FIELD: cleaning or keeping clear the surface of open water, particularly to clean streams of oil pollution in difficult-to-access areas. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves forming sump pool by damming up river bed; settling upper oil layer in the sump pool and accumulating oil in accumulation column; discharging associated water from the accumulation column through control vessel with the use of controllable valve; discharging main portion of clear subsurface water accumulated by grooved-and-tongue guiding means through bottom window and surface level regulation gate. Device for above method implementation comprises dam and accumulation column. The dam is formed of grooved-and-tongue guiding means having double walls in river bed cross-section. The grooved-and-tongue guiding means converge towards the accumulation column to create the sump pool. Rear wall of the grooved-and-tongue guiding means is provided with surface gate, the front wall thereof has bottom window. Oil receiver is installed upstream the accumulation column. ^ EFFECT: possibility to gather oil from water surface without oil mixing with main water flow. ^ 4 cl, 3 dwg |
