PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding die capable of forming a variety of containers using wooden veneer and wooden laminate, since conventional molding dies for forming wooden veneer and wooden laminate cause breakages of molded items in the case of molding containers, etc., of great depth, as there is a given condition of press velocity of dies for pressing material with the dies, causing a time difference in the material's period of softening by heating between the bottom portion and upper edge of a container to be molded, thus, disabling an even softening of the material and an instantaneous discharge of water content. SOLUTION: In order to press for forming a wooden veneer and a laminated sheet into a variety of containers having a depth to some extent or more, the upper metal die 1 of a pair of the upper and lower metal dies is structurally demarcated into a plurality of sections to allow stepwise heating and pressing of the demarcated die sections, further enabling an instantaneous discharge of vapors by the up-and-down movement of a demarcated die under a given pressure applied. This enables a partial forming, that is, a simultaneous even softening by heating of the material as a whole is not required and a variety of moldings with depth can be obtained.
