PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical microphone capable of realizing a shape of a small-sized pencil microphone type with a high degree of design freedom from the viewpoint of the mechanism and preventing deterioration in sound wave detection precision due to circuit components or the like through the adoption of the shape above. SOLUTION: A laser beam generating section 2 and a photoelectric conversion section 6 can be arranged at an opening part of a cylindrical mirror 4 by providing a tilted planar mirror 16 to part of a wall face of the cylindrical mirror 4 through which a sound wave passes. Further, a shield plate 17 is provided to an opening of the cylindrical mirror 4 opposite to a sound source to make an acoustic impedance constant at the opening opposite to the sound source.
