PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize updating map data at less cost in a car navigation system. SOLUTION: A method for providing the updating map to a car navigation system includes a first step for proceeding to transmission request of the updating map data from the car navigation system, a second step for transmitting the updating map data with a map information server in response thereto, a third step for displaying a use fee of the updating map data necessary for running guide according to a searched route when the car navigation system uses the updating map data in route search, and a fourth step for reset total processing of the use fee between the car navigation system and the map information server and the map information server when a user desires the running guide according to the searched route to provide the updating map data.
