PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a beam averaged in light intensity distribution by shaping a beam from a light source emitting the beam of light intensity having a Gauss distribution and by mixing the central part luminous flux of the inside and a peripheral part luminous flux. SOLUTION: A meniscus afocal lens 5 is installed on the optical axis of the light source and when the lens receives the beam from the light source, a spherical aberration is created on its first face and the size of an exit angle is changed on its second face to shape the exit beam. Thereby, the central part luminous flux inside the beam and the peripheral part luminous flux are mixed and the light intensity distribution is averaged. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
