PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guiding device for safely cutting bamboos and thick bushes with a bush cutter used in the weeding and brushing of forest land. SOLUTION: The bush cutter has a head part 3 at the tip end of a supporting rod 1 and cuts grasses and bushes with a rotary blade 2 attached to the head part 3. An upper guide 4 is placed above the rotary blade 2 and a lower guide 5 is placed under the blade. The upper guide 4 has a protrusion 6 protruding forward at the upstream side of the rotating direction of the rotary blade and the lower guide 5 has a protrusion 7 protruding forward at the downstream side of the rotating direction of the blade. The cutting object introduced between the protrusion 6 of the upper guide and the protrusion 7 of the lower guide is cut in a state pressed with the protrusion 7 of the lower guide by the cutting resistance of the rotary blade. As an alternative, the guiding device has a pair of guiding rods separated by a definite distance, placed above the rotary blade, protruded forward and folded under the rotary blade.
