PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for easily detecting a nuclease useful in the field of genetic engineering such as genetic recombination and gene analysis and quickly analyzing the nuclease. SOLUTION: The method for screening a new nuclease comprises the synthesis of a candidate gene by a cell-free protein synthesis and the examination of the presence of the nuclease activity of the gene.
