PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make compression-molded wood be excellent in strength and durability while keeping the texture of a wood surface in the compression-molded wood and its production method. SOLUTION: When wood is compressed by a mold being heated, wax which is melted at the temperature of the mold is supplied to the space between the mold and the compression-molded wood 1 to make the wax permeate the surface layer part of the wood to form a wax-impregnated part 2 while the wood is fixed to the mold.
