PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of performing printing by utilizing mechanical energy without using an external power source. SOLUTION: This printer comprises mechanical energy accumulation mechanisms 100, 150 for accumulating external forces, a sheet conveyance mechanism 130 for conveying a sheet S by mechanical energy, a head conveyance mechanism 160 for conveying a print head 170 by the mechanical energy, an electric energy conversion mechanism 200 for converting the mechanical energy to electric energy, an electric energy accumulation device 210 for accumulating the electric energy converted by the electric energy conversion mechanism 200, a mechanism control device 330 capable of operating by the electric energy for controlling the conveyance of the sheet S and/or the print head 170, and a printing control device 320 capable of operating by the electric energy for controlling the printing of the print head 170 on the sheet S.
