A polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell stack comprises insulating end plates (1) into which connections for media (11), dc current (3) and measuring and safety units (12) are integrated using stackable, rapid self-locking plug connections with monitoring sensors and safety limiters directly in the media channel. An independent claim is also included for a stack as above for high current and without contacting aggressive media.
