<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a recording mark with high accuracy without causing heat interference between consecutive recording marks, cross erasure between the recording marks in adjacent tracks or the like in a recording layer with high light transmittance as in an L1 layer of a double-layer optical recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: In performing recording on a semitransparent recording film with high light transmittance, a laser beam is modulated to emit a pulse series of a laser including a write pulse of recording power and a cooling pulse of bottom power so as to modulate data to be recorded to be a recording mark of a length along a track of the recording layer while being made to correspond to an intgral multiple nT of T when one clock cycle is T. An nT recording mark corresponding to nT is formed using (n-1) write pulse(s), and when forming a recording mark of 4 T or longer, a cooling pulse with a pulse width of 0.8 T to 2 T is inserted before the last write pulse. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
