<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for producing synthesis gas, by which degradation of catalytic activity due to carbon precipitation is prevented and stable catalytic performance is maintained for a long time in the case of reforming a fluid to be reformed, which contains ≥2C hydrocarbon, while almost simultaneously generating steam reforming and partial oxidation reforming as seen in a pre-reformer. <P>SOLUTION: Ruthenium is adopted as a reforming catalyst. The fluid to be reformed, whose sulfur concentration is made to be ≤2.4 mol ppb, is allowed to flow into a catalyst layer made by selecting and using the reforming catalyst that has a CO adsorption capacity of ≥0.02 (cm<SP>3</SP>/g), so that a synthesis gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide is produced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
