<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which detects precisely the deterioration of a fuel cell, in particular, the deterioration state of an electrolyte membrane. <P>SOLUTION: Ion concentration detectors 7, 8 are installed at a hydrogen exhaust passage 4 and an air exhaust passage 6 at the downstream of an anode and a cathode of a fuel cell 2 having the anode supplied with hydrogen and the cathode supplied with air, and based on the ion concentration (pH) detected by the ion concentration detectors 7, 8, the deterioration state of the electrolyte membrane is detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
